This is pond that I will often pass by on my drives for work. It's fairly shallow with dark tannins colouring the water a light brown. Rafts of loons will often use this pond to raise their chick’s. During the summer months the reflections of the sky on the water will give it a mellow blue colour. It gives one a feeling of comfort and calm. When I set out to create this oil painting I imagined hearing the loons call.
